Dr. Michelle Braun, Ph.D., ABPP-CN is a board-certified, Harvard- and Yale- trained, award-winning neuropsychologist and national leader in the field of brain health and cognitive functioning. She has been featured on PBS, NPR, Fox Morning News, CBS, iHeart Radio, and other media outlets, and has a popular blog on brain health in Psychology Today.

Her mission was sparked as a teenager when she witnessed the challenges faced by older adults with dementia. Inspired to improve the care and quality of life of adults with memory problems, she pursued a career as a neuropsychologist specializing in memory and cognition, geriatric psychology, motivational enhancement, and brain health. Since then, she has been honored to share her expertise with thousands of patients and their families, and to empower individuals to boost brain health and reduce the risk of Alzheimer’s with science-backed strategies.

Dr. Braun earned her undergraduate degree in Cello Performance and Psychology from Carroll College (now Carroll University) in Waukesha, WI, and a Master of Science and PhD in Clinical Psychology with a minor in Neuroscience from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. She completed her internship at Yale University School of Medicine, and postdoctoral fellowship at Harvard Medical School/Boston VA. She then served as the Assistant Director of Inpatient Mental Health at the Boston VA and Instructor of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School prior to moving back to her hometown of Milwaukee, where she has served the Racine community since 2011.

Dr. Braun was honored to be recognized with a 2022 Woman of Influence Award from Success Magazine, a 2022 Distinguished Alumni Award from Carroll University, a Practitioner of the Year Award from the Alzheimer’s Association, and to be named to the “40 Under 40” class of 2013 by the Milwaukee Business Journal. Her bestselling book, High-Octane Brain: 5 Science-Based Steps to Sharpen Your Memory and Reduce Your Risk of Alzheimer’s, empowers readers to optimize brain health and well-being with a personalized action plan and tracking system.

Dr. Braun is dedicated to neuropsychology advocacy, and chaired a committee of national neuropsychology organizations in developing a model for coverage of neuropsychological services under Medicare, which informs the policies of several private insurers.

She is currently earning an MBA at the Kelley School of Business, with a major in entrepreneurship, and a focus on creating products and services to maximize brain health and reduce the risk of Alzheimer’s. Dr. Braun loves family time, all animals (including her fetching goldendoodle Rugby and four cats), hip hop dancing and Zumba, basketball, and social entrepreneurship.
